Doug originally aired on Nickelodeon from 1991 to 1994. The main character being Douglas "Doug" Funnie, was created by Jim Jinkins, in conjunction with Jumbo Pictures. Doug found his way to Disney through the the acquisition of Jumbo Pictures by Disney in 1996
